(Vinnies) Hunter
Supporting the Hunter’s most
vulnerable, one person at a time.
Most people know Vinnies for its op shops, but behind the scenes their Hunter team provides vital frontline support for people experiencing homelessness, financial hardship, and crisis.
One of their newest initiatives is a Women’s Temporary Accommodation Service in Swansea, which has been operating since December and will officially open on 6 August. This important service provides safe, short-term accommodation for women in need and adds to a growing network of support across the Hunter.
Vinnies Hunter also operates:
- Matthew Talbot Homelessness Centre at Wickham, the region’s only funded men’s homelessness service.
- The Vinnies Van, providing outreach across the Hunter.
- Community Hubs in Newcastle and Maitland offering emergency financial assistance and practical support.
- A dedicated team of Volunteer Members who visit and support people across the region. Together, they helped deliver more than $2 million in assistance throughout the Hunter last financial year.
They also welcome support for their fundraising initiatives, including the annual CEO Sleepout and their Charity Golf Day’s at Charlestown.

Our guiding principle for listing a business is for anyone that lives in or around Caves Beach and owns or

We want it to be a vehicle to encourage networking and for locals to support locals.
